Walking is man’s best medicine. – Hippocrates
Well, I finally did it. I went out and bought a walker. It took me so long to make the decision, but I am happy I did it. Walking for a long time has been getting harder and harder for me so it was time for a change even though nothing says old to me like a walker. I have taken it out a few times to go for a walk and surprised myself with how far I could walk. The great thing about it is that I can walk with people at the same height as everyone else. I didn’t realize what a nice feeling it would be to walk and talk with people while not sitting on my scooter and being so much lower than everyone else. Change still sucks and I certainly don’t love the walker yet, but I am optimistic that it will help with the lessening strength in my legs. My main goal is to continue to have the ability to walk so that I can keep doing things I enjoy with my friends and family. One step towards mobility and health.
